TWINS

On Saturday I spent a few hours with 3 month old Lila & Patrick for their first photo session.
They did an awesome job and I got some great images of them with their parents, Joe and Sarah, together, and by themselves.
Because they come from an Irish heritage, Sarah asked if I had any St Patrick's Day props. although I did have some at home, I took the opportunity to sew up a beret for Patrick to wear and decorated a white headband with Kelly green trim and a green carnation for Lila to wear , then wrapped them in light green soft fleece fabric, added a green Teddie Beanie Baby. This was one of my favorites of the 2 of them together.

While Lila ate, we worked on some individual images of Patrick.
I always like to use baseball props for baby boys. What little guy doesn't dream of playing ball at some point.

Once Lila was finished eating we worked on getting some images of her with a collection of items that begin with the letter "B" (which I noticed after the fact). I was going for a Ballerina theme with the tutu, added the headband with a butterfly clip, some pink beads and a baby bear for her to hold. Many things that little girls dream of.
I played around with color on these next 2. The one below I desaturated just a bit leaving a light pink hue.
This one is a selective color as I desaturated the color from the entire image before bringing back just a hint of pink in specific area. Which do you prefer?
I had a couple of Teddie bear hats that we used for a few shots of the twins together

Mom liked my baby in the nest images so I brought the nest props even though these 2 are older than the last baby I photographed in the nest. I really loved the outcome of these images.

They look like a couple of baby birds ready to fly the coop. In the image below it gives me the sense that they are either protesting for their food or cheering for their favorite team. I any event I loved the results of this and all of their images.

Nutcracker - Holiday card photos - High School Senior Session

Saturday's performances of Broadway Bound Dance Center's version of the holiday classic Nutcracker which they refer to as Nuts & Bolts, were a huge success! From the opening performance of Drosselmeyer's Toy Shop
To the children's holiday party where the mischievous boys had much fun teasing the young ladies...
to the dancing dolls
Mouse Kings and Toy soldier's come to life....
The beautiful Snow Queen and snowflakes...
A lovely Sugar Plum Fairy whose leaps were beyond compare
and an Arabian dancer that any young girl would aspire to be
able to dance like.
and not quire last, and certainly not least, a trio of acrobatic Russian Dancers.
It was a performance that was well worth the viewing.
I'm looking forward to BBDC's next performance in February of
Alice in Wonderland.
Sunday morning took me to see this gaggle of kiddies for their annual holiday session. We had rescheduled a couple of times due to illnesses. Even this weekend young Liam (centered between his 2 sisters) was leaving right after our session for a doctors appointment doe a suspected ear infection. He managed to stay composed for the session even though he didn't feel well. Hopefully they'll all be healthy and happy for their Christmas celebrations next week.
Sunday early afternoon was a session for Aiden and Erin to use for holiday cards and holiday gift giving. Erin's before and after photos were posted here last month when she donated her hair to Locks of Love
I invited her mom to bring along Erin's First Communion Dress since she hadn't had professional photos done last spring when she made her First Communion.
I was very happy she took me up on it. The photos came out lovely!
Sunday afternoon was to be an indoor and outdoor photo session for Jessica's H.S. Senior Yearbook Photos. I met Jessica Last week while doing holiday photos for her 4 month old niece, Grace. Unfortunately the rain prevented the outdoor session. It's must have been kismet that I was called to do Grace's photos and met Jessica. We had talked about doing her senior photos after the first of the year but....
as it turned out Jessica's senior photo's were due to be submitted next week.
so after a little juggling, we were able to get the photos taken this weekend.
I always take lots of poses and allow up to 3 changes of clothes.
Although only one traditional style photo will be used for her yearbook, some of the other fun shots will be printed to give to family and friends at graduation.
