TWINS

On Saturday I spent a few hours with 3 month old Lila & Patrick for their first photo session.
They did an awesome job and I got some great images of them with their parents, Joe and Sarah, together, and by themselves.
Because they come from an Irish heritage, Sarah asked if I had any St Patrick's Day props. although I did have some at home, I took the opportunity to sew up a beret for Patrick to wear and decorated a white headband with Kelly green trim and a green carnation for Lila to wear , then wrapped them in light green soft fleece fabric, added a green Teddie Beanie Baby. This was one of my favorites of the 2 of them together.

While Lila ate, we worked on some individual images of Patrick.
I always like to use baseball props for baby boys. What little guy doesn't dream of playing ball at some point.

Once Lila was finished eating we worked on getting some images of her with a collection of items that begin with the letter "B" (which I noticed after the fact). I was going for a Ballerina theme with the tutu, added the headband with a butterfly clip, some pink beads and a baby bear for her to hold. Many things that little girls dream of.
I played around with color on these next 2. The one below I desaturated just a bit leaving a light pink hue.
This one is a selective color as I desaturated the color from the entire image before bringing back just a hint of pink in specific area. Which do you prefer?
I had a couple of Teddie bear hats that we used for a few shots of the twins together

Mom liked my baby in the nest images so I brought the nest props even though these 2 are older than the last baby I photographed in the nest. I really loved the outcome of these images.

They look like a couple of baby birds ready to fly the coop. In the image below it gives me the sense that they are either protesting for their food or cheering for their favorite team. I any event I loved the results of this and all of their images.

Weekend Photo Sessions for 6 month girl and boy

Since it was Valentine's weekend, we had to include a baby cupid shot at Sierra's photo session.

Sierra's 6 month session was prop central. I brought an assortment of props, hats and headbands with me
as you can see.
We did a rub a dub dub set with mom blowing bubbles (above) and with Sierra wearing the cute little mop hat (below)
Because she would make just the cutest little chickadee I hot glued some yellow feathers to a yellow headband, brought along my giant egg shell and nest, mom provided a yellow onsie t-shirt, and there you go!
The cutest little chick you'll ever see.

We couldn't do without a ballerina baby shot with
Sierra's own tutu and one of the cute headbands that I was happy to provide.
These last few don't have props other than the headband that she's wearing in the image below. There is a story here though. It seems that the overalls she is wearing has been handed down from her mother, to her uncle and assorted cousins,a and now to Sierra.
After spotting this dress on a face book posting I asked her mom to put the dress on so I could take a few shots of her in it.
By the time we got to the classic shot below, Sierra had had quite enough and protested.
Needless to mention, Sierra's 6 month session was filled with a great assortment of lovely and fun images!
On Sunday morning, 5 1/2 month old Henry had his first photo session.
As I was out on Saturday, I found this cowboy hat on the sale rack at Babies R Us and the stick pony I found a few weeks back on clearance at a Toys R Us store that was relocating.
I was happy to be able to use them for the first time with this little cow poke.

Here, Henry is introducing me to his Henry Bear.
All dressed up.
Giving his Peter rabbit a scutch (hug)
Since it was his first session, we had to get mom and dad in a few images. Henry and his dad

It was very nice to meet young Henry. He is a very pleasant and good natured boy. I look forward to photographing him again.
