Dance Sisters

In my yearly photo session with Liz and Jen for their dance pics we decided on a plain white paper background.  because they are really good at following directions, I had them imitate some poses from a few of their dance magazines. I really loved the results of many of them. here are some of my favorites starting with  Liz, who began point lessons this year.

Nutcracker - Holiday card photos - High School Senior Session

Saturday's performances of Broadway Bound Dance Center's version of the holiday classic Nutcracker which they refer to as Nuts & Bolts, were a huge success! From the opening performance of Drosselmeyer's Toy Shop
To the children's holiday party where the mischievous boys had much fun teasing the young ladies...
to the dancing dolls
Mouse Kings and Toy soldier's come to life....
The beautiful Snow Queen and snowflakes...
A lovely Sugar Plum Fairy whose leaps were beyond compare
and an Arabian dancer that any young girl would aspire to be
able to dance like.
and not quire last, and certainly not least, a trio of acrobatic Russian Dancers.
It was a performance that was well worth the viewing.
I'm looking forward to BBDC's next performance in February of
Alice in Wonderland.
Sunday morning took me to see this gaggle of kiddies for their annual holiday session. We had rescheduled a couple of times due to illnesses. Even this weekend young Liam (centered between his 2 sisters) was leaving right after our session for a doctors appointment doe a suspected ear infection. He managed to stay composed for the session even though he didn't feel well. Hopefully they'll all be healthy and happy for their Christmas celebrations next week.
Sunday early afternoon was a session for Aiden and Erin to use for holiday cards and holiday gift giving. Erin's before and after photos were posted here last month when she donated her hair to Locks of Love
I invited her mom to bring along Erin's First Communion Dress since she hadn't had professional photos done last spring when she made her First Communion.
I was very happy she took me up on it. The photos came out lovely!
Sunday afternoon was to be an indoor and outdoor photo session for Jessica's H.S. Senior Yearbook Photos. I met Jessica Last week while doing holiday photos for her 4 month old niece, Grace. Unfortunately the rain prevented the outdoor session. It's must have been kismet that I was called to do Grace's photos and met Jessica. We had talked about doing her senior photos after the first of the year but....
as it turned out Jessica's senior photo's were due to be submitted next week.
so after a little juggling, we were able to get the photos taken this weekend.
I always take lots of poses and allow up to 3 changes of clothes.
Although only one traditional style photo will be used for her yearbook, some of the other fun shots will be printed to give to family and friends at graduation.

Dance Week

After a week of long hours taking thousands dance studio and performance photos for BBDC (Broadway Bound Dance Center), I stopped by Elizabeth & Jenny's house to take their dance photos.

We began with their hip hop costumes. The only dance that they will perform together

We then moved on to Jenny's modern dance costume. In her modern dance she will depict a very colorful fish.

Then it was time for Elizabeth's tap costume where she resembles one of those roaring 20's "Flappers"

Then it was on to the "Jazz" costumes
Once the jazz costume photos were taken, Jenny was through,
but Elizabeth had her ballet costume
and finally her modern dance costume.

I'll look forward to their recital in a few weeks.

Warm & Wonderful Beach & 70's Saturday

Saturday afternoon took me to Wollaston Beach for a photo session with these 2 lovely sisters who could be the poster girls for dazzling smiles.
Ashli and Kate had this session so that they could send gift photos to their grandmother who lives in Washington.
It's my guess that their grandmother will be well please with her gift.

This year's BOMA Fundraising event had a 70's flair.
We had mini's with GoGo Boots

Hippie style headbands, and lets not forget the back in style peasant dress

The afro styling lady with the one piece halter jumpsuit
We had a flower child and a cannabis plant
This guy made a trip to Daddyland for this sporty Leisure Suit
And no 70's party can be complete without the wide collared, open buttoned so you can see my chest hair participant
Throw in a quick game of Twister with the DJ
And some extremely colorful platform shoes that won this guy first prize in the costume contest
and you come away with a memorable evening and some needed funds for some very worthy causes.
