It was a driving trip to Maryland this weekend so that my college bound daughter could see the University of Maryland, which was one of the nicer campuses I've encountered.
The big treat for me was a side trip to Assateague Island to get up close and personal with some wild ponies.
I was amazed with the way they freely roamed, even on the roads.
I met a fellow photgrapher, Donald Elmendorf, out to capture some unique horse images. This little guy was very curious about this photographer's lens. This same pony came up to me and nuzzled and nibbled the sleeve of my shirt soon after checking out Don._1.jpg)
Don graciously sent me the images of the same pony checking me out as you see below. I checked out Don's web site and if you are into unique images of animals, check out his site. He's got some pretty amazing stuff there
All in all I'd say that these wild ponies were just as curious about us as we were about them

When they had enough of the human world they crossed the water to their solitude. It was a very eventful day!
